Todd was raised in a Southern Appalachian Mountain region so rich in history and nature that the past lingers in the rocks and trees and mountain streams.
The people who settled this area were strong, resilient and resourceful. They worked with nature
to build their homes and furnishings, overcome the hardships of mountain living, and grow their families into modern-day dynasties.
So, when he was much younger (a mere sappling, compared to the gnarled old willow he is now), and living in the woods in Georgia, Todd knew he could look to nature for help when he needed seating for his camp. Over the years since he made those first rustic camp chairs, Todd's feel for the workings of nature has grown, allowing him to translate history and nature into rustic, elegant, furniture endowed with uncommon beauty and endurance. He has honed his skills to the point where he is considered a master craftsman, an artist, and one of the most respected builders of rustic furniture in America, even among his peers.
Among other honors, Todd’s work has been featured several times on HGTV, and was included in the 2006 HGTV Dream Home at Lake Lure, He was commissioned to do replica chairs for the Carl Sandburg National Historic Site, he created and supplied headboards for "The Treehouse" at Disneyworld, Florida, and his willow furniture was chosen for the outdoor patio at the High Hampton Inn & Country Club in Cashiers, North Carolina.
Supporting the fact that Todd's furniture is not just functional - it is, in fact, art - it has been shown at prominent galleries such as Lake Placid Lodge in New York, Grovewood Gallery in Asheville, NC and it was featured at the Asheville Museum of Art in Asheville, NC.
Todd's furniture is the natural choice for a cottage or cabin, but it also shines as a delightful, unexpected component in other decors. Paired with a silver tea service, it brings life to the term rustic elegance. In a minamalist setting, one of Todd's pieces will highlight the care you take in choosing your decor, while bringing warmth and texture into your clutter-free environment.
Bring Todd's furniture into your cottage, cabin, home or office, and experience for yourself how his timeless works can bring the beauty of nature into your environment, and become a part of your history.
